Our values
Quintessence Embroidery strives to provide clients with the quintessence of quality finishes for their designs, on the apparel of their choice (or our recommendation). Large, commercial, industrial embroidery companies may very well be able to churn out 100 polo shirts in 10 minutes, but the designs are often sloppy, unfinished, and have a “mass produced” look. We provide tailored, individualised, quality products and are completely dedicated to providing you with the finest, cleanest and best end product.
We are a business with a mission to help people in this world who don’t always feel seen, heard or accepted for who they are. This will be accomplished through custom clothing retail, in the form of different clothing line releases that will be sold to spread awareness, acceptance and positivity.
We support many underrepresented communities including the Mental Health community and sufferers, the LGBTQ+ community, the Black Lives Matter movement, the Stop Asian Hate movement, justice for Ukraine efforts, and many more.
We strive to contribute to the environmental effort by ensuring that, as much as possible, our products are sourced and packaged in sustainable materials.
Meet the owner
I work as an actor in the musical theatre industry, and currently work on Hamilton in the London West End. With the current state of our Equity union, many performers are having to work multiple jobs in order to keep up with the rise in living costs in London. I wanted to choose a side hustle that also served as a creative outlet for me. I’ve always loved art and fashion, and the idea of having customised items that you know nobody else in the world possesses. Something that was yours and held meaning.
When travelling in America, I visited a custom embroidery store specialising in hats. I would spend hours watching the machine at work, creating something from nothing. It is also common knowledge that embroidery gives highest quality aesthetic for putting any design on a garment. Sure, you can iron on a design, but there’s just that something about fine stitchwork that elevates a design. To know I can create that, and help clients elevate their designs, their garments and ultimately themselves, drives the reason behind why I chose to start this business.
In addition, when being in the cast or company of a production as an actor, receiving a garment as a gift from the production team on opening/closing night is a great tradition. Wearing that cast hoodie or sweatshirt, that fleece or gilet that has the show logo on it and your name, gives an element of pride to have been in the show. It also gives a literal meaning to the saying “been there, got the t-shirt.” If it’s a nice garment that the cast members will wear after leaving the show, it also serves to market the show well when they’re seen wearing the apparel in public.
Furthermore, I want to do my bit for the people in this world who don’t always feel seen, heard or accepted for who they are, and to spread awareness, acceptance and positivity.
I’m a perfectionist. I take pride in everything I do, and always ensure I push myself to the highest level I can achieve. Quintessence Embroidery is no different. I take time and pride in every product, and make sure I’m delivering the finest output only.
